Resume

Now I am working at Microsoft  Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing as an intern. I received the B.Sc. degree in July  2007 from Qilu  Software College of Shandong  University. In the same year, I was admitted to study for the M.Sc.  degree, majored in computer application, in  School of Computer Science and Technology, Shandong University without entrance examination. I am  a member of MLA group, which is led by Dr. and Prof. Yilong Yin. And I was student leader of the Machine Learning and It's Application Group, which  was a subgroup of PRIP before it was renamed as MLA in May 2009.  I have visited LAMDA of  Nanjing University for half one year as a visiting graduate student, which is lead by Prof. Zhi-Hua Zhou.

Supervisor

My supervisor is Prof. Yilong Yin, who has been elected as doctortal supervisor of Shandong University since 2009.

Research

My research interests include Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining in theory, and Content-Based Image Retrieval and Biometrics  in application. Recently, I have been devoted to Semi-supervised learning, Ensemble learning and difficult problems in learning, which make tranditional  learners to behave badly, such as Class Imbalance, Cost-sensitivity and Small Disjuncts. Now I am doing some projects on applications of machine  learning to fingerprint and face recognitions.

Activities

I have taken part in PAKDD Competition 2007 and our team ranks 35 in more than 260 teams from all over the world. The rank  lists can be found in the website http://lamda.nju.edu.cn/conf/pakdd07/dmc07/results.htm ,and our team'ID is P060.  I  presented at PAKDD (Pacific-Asia Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining) 2007, which held in Nanjing, China during 22-25  May 2007, funded by my supervisor Yilong Yin, when I was a senior student. During the conference, I attended four keynote  speeches, two workshops and  four tutorials presented by top researcheres in fields of KDD(Knowledge Discovery and Data mining)  and ML(machine learning), which made me  feel so lucky and appreciated.  I have attended ICNC'08-FSKD'08 during 18-20 October, 2008 in Jinan.
